PicTech WordPress Theme: Importing Demo Pages

Follow these steps to import demo pages in the PicTech theme for a quick setup.

1. Preparing for Demo Import

1. Activate Theme & Plugins: Ensure that you have activated the PicTech theme and installed and activated all required plugins. If you haven’t done so, please follow the theme installation and plugin activation instructions in this guide.
2. Check Server Requirements: Double-check your server requirements to ensure they meet the necessary specifications. We strongly recommend using PHP version 8.2 for a faster and smoother demo import experience.

2. Importing Demo Pages

Navigate to the Demo Import Page:

• Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
• Navigate to Appearance > Import Demo Data.

Select Demo to Import:

• On the Import Demo Data page, you’ll see a grid displaying all available demo pages.
• Each demo page has two buttons: Preview Demo and Import Demo.
• Click on the Import Demo button for the demo you want to import.

Start Import Process:

• After clicking Import Demo, you will be redirected to a new page.
• Click on the Continue Import button to start the import process.

Wait for Import to Complete:

3. Set Homepage After Import

1. Set Homepage:
   • Go to Settings > Reading.
   • Under Your homepage displays, select the specific Home Page from the dropdown.
   • Click on Save Changes to apply the setting.

Permalinks: After importing the demo, please make sure to save the Permalinks settings (go to Settings > Permalinks> Post Name and click Save Changes) to ensure that all blog and portfolio pages load content as expected.
